Who we are

Dental Assisting 101 is offered through The Institute of Dental Assisting.  This 80 hour course was established in 1992 and has helped many students launch a career in the dental field.  With class sizes up to 12 students you are ensured personal attention and one on one help.  Lecture notes, lab materials, and textbooks are all provided and given to the students to keep as a reference and the ability to continue learning even after graduating from this course.

This course is offered through the Institute of Dental Assisting, Middleton, WI. and is approved by the State of Wisconsin Education Approval Board.

Our instructors have a passion for Dentistry and a desire to help our students achieve their goals.

President and Instructor
Dr. Shipley founded the Institute of Dental Assisting in 1992 and has helped many students become well-versed in the field of dentistry. He offers a great perspective to the students as a dentist who has been practicing for over 35 years. Schedule a tour and get a chance to meet him yourself!

  As Dr. Shipley’s lead Assistant at Distinctive Dentistry, Sandy brings great energy and experience to the Institute of Dental Assisting students. She enjoys helping the students with the hands on practical application of what they learn and is the go-to person for clinical observation in our office.

 As the Business Manager for the school Erin is available to help with any registration and financial aid questions. She enjoys the behind the scenes work of helping the school run smoothly and giving you the best experience here!
